A roof has several parts with different histories
Keep sound components when the inspection supports it. Adam photographs the covering, fixings and supporting layers separately, so a roof's age does not replace evidence of what needs repairing.
Tell Adam what previous work you know about and keep old quotations or photographs available. He examines the current condition and explains which components need attention. That history helps introduce the roof, but the photographed findings provide the reason for the repair proposed today.
Retained tiles can still form part of a reroof

Equally, a lead junction or loose ridge can require work while the main slopes remain serviceable. Ask which defect the inspection has found and whether repairing it addresses the reported leak. The answer is more useful than applying one lifespan figure to every component above the house.
